This week’s email brought a tidal wave of requests for The War Cloud to come out in print. Tom grabbed three and here are his answers:
QUESTION: Hi. Fan from England here. I don’t possess a Kindle or nookbook at all, and wanted to know if ‘The War Cloud’ is going to be available as a paper book at all in the future? If not, is there some way I could get the book as a .word file I could read on my PC. I loved all the Atlantis novels, and ‘The Promised War’ and look forward to it’s sequels eagerly Kind regards and thanks in advance for any help you can provide me with.

ANSWER: Hey, Kevin! The War Cloud is eBook only. But it will be coming out on the new Google Edition store this week. This new Google edition can be read on any computer, tablet or phone. Simply type “books.google.com/ebooks” in your web browser to get to the Google eBookstore. Then type “The War Cloud” in the search box. Hope you enjoy.
QUESTION: You are hands down one of my favorite authors. I have never really been into reading, and one day 2 years ago i was browsing the fiction section of Barnes and Noble and your Raising Atlantis novel caught my eye. I took the risk and bought it. I got home and once i read the first chapter, i couldnt put down the book. i ended up reading the whole atlantis series, and pre ordered your promised war novel. Absolutely incredible is the best way i can describe all your novels. I just have one request. I am not, and have never been into e-books, and know nothing about them. I do not own a Kindle or a Nook. I prefer the old fashioned way of buying the novel and reading. I want to read your new novel THE WAR CLOUD and its killing me that i cannot because i don’t do E-books. Is it ever gonna come out the old fashioned way paperback/hardcover ever? Because the day it does, if it does, it will be in my hands the when Barnes and Noble opens. Please get back to me soon, thank you.

REPLY: Thanks so much for your very kind note. I feel your pain, but for now The War Cloud is eBook only. Could it possibly come out in hardcover, er, say, next summer? Anything is possible. And I’ll let everybody know via the @lantis Insider newsletter. One thing you might want to try out is the brand-new Google Edition version, which you can read on any desktop or laptop computer, as well as mobile devices. I know, not quite the stuff of print. But it’s there. If it makes you feel any better, my next novel, The 34th Degree, comes out this summer with no website, video trailers or anything. Everything is packed between the covers of this 600-page print monster. It’s my Luddite response to my own 100% digital War Cloud. Again, it means a lot to me that you enjoy my novels, and I appreciate your email. And it’s really me writing this, not an assistant or autoresponder. All best, TG
QUESTION: I was wondering if the War Cloud will eventually become an actual book. I have all your books in hard cover and paperback and I am still in the I refuse to get a machine to read a book mode. I guess Arthur C. Clarke’s novels are coming true that everything will be machines and pills in the future. Thank you.

REPLY: For now The War Cloud is eBook only. I do have a monster new print novel coming out this summer with The 34th Degree, and I know you’ll love it. I especially hear you about the whole machine thing. I’m hoping with the Atlantis Insider blog/emails and some of my social media that I can be “real” and not some “hologram” author whose reps spit out fragments of promo fluff.
